Christina Aguilera, National Anthem at Super Bowl

Christina Aguilera, National Anthem at Super Bowl
Last night was the grand opening ceremony of the Super Bowl XLV where many notable celebrities and musicians performed on stage to entertain the audience and also to encourage the players. The singers performed their best too the audience but “Burlesque” singer Christina Aguilera made the biggest gaffe of her life by botching the lyrics of America’s national anthem.

While performing the song, the singer changed the lyrics of a line completely, which left the crowd as well the viewers who are watching it at home shocked and confused.

Christina Aguilera bagged the golden opportunity to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” in front of 100 million audiences. However, it seems that due to reason known best to her, the singer forgot the lyrics and changed the second line of the song completely. The actual lyrics of the song goes like “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming” but while performing the song, the singer sang, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming”.

Dressed in black suit with her signature dark red lip color, the singer looked picture perfect for the night. However, by muffing the words, the blonde singer has raised many eyebrows. This was the biggest performance of her career but the singer spoiled it by making such a grave mistake.

Some media outlets are of the opinion that though Christina Aguilera flubbed the lyrics, yet she handled her mistake like an experienced singer. Last night’s Super Bowl witnessed Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers playing against each other and in the end, the latter won the game.

Before taking the stage, Christina Aguilera told a reputed media outlet that she has been performing national anthem since she was 7 year old and performing in Super Bowl is like a dream come true for her.(Thaindian)
