Electric Motorbike Concept By Wes Rhoad | ZERO MOTO

Drawing inspiration from Art Deco Steam Locomotives, designer Wes Rhoad has developed a motorbike concept by the name “Zero Moto” that looks to build upon the electric motorcycles with better speed and operating range. Electric vehicles are clean, silent and run at a fraction of cost of a conventional vehicle.

However, the speed and operating range of most electric vehicles is a hurdle in their wide reach. Auto designers have been trying to better the credentials of EVs since long and have come up with striking concepts, such as the Zero Moto, which is the brainchild of designer Wes Rhoad.

Running on electric motors, located in the front and rear wheel-hub assemblies, to allow in-wheel drive, the futurist motorbike includes an all-wheel steering system for better controls. The front and rear wheels of the motorbike turn opposite to each other to decrease turning radius at normal speed, while on the other hand, the wheels turn in the same direction for quick lane changes at high speeds.

In addition, the electric motorcycle comes with an on-board CPU to monitor the real-time torque control. LED headlight strip and turn signals have been included to reduce the load on batteries. An LED instrument touch panel has been introduced that displays speed, RPM and battery life. The batteries are located within the bottom portion of the aluminum skinned main body for low center of gravity.

The designer believes that the zero-emission motorcycle will have an estimated top speed of about 90mph and an operating range of about 200 miles. Designed for speed lovers, the Zero Moto will be able to hit a speed of 60mph in just 3.9 seconds.
